What does a historic building have to do with recurring giving?

Bon giorno,DSCN1619

You may wonder, why I am writing about history all of a sudden? Because I just came back from a terrific but short trip to France and Italy… Something we’d planned for a while and it was finally happening!

We saw where our World War II veterans stormed the Normandy beaches and helped liberate our European fellow men and women.

And we saw so many amazing (and old) things, one can only be full of awe!!

The most impressive to me personally was our visit to the ‘City of Peace’, Assisi, the place where St. Francis of Assisi spent most of his life and is buried.

When you see the Basilica that was built over his crypt, you cannot help but be amazed at the craftsmanship, the detail, the terrific colors, marble and architectural design.

untitledCan you believe that this masterpiece was built 800 years ago? The first phase started in 1228 and finished in 1230, the second phase started in 1239 and was finished in 1253!!

Can you imagine? No computers, no electricity, no phones, no internet, none of that! Just pure human ingenuity, persistence and hard work!

So, if human beings can build such an incredible building in a few years with virtually no tools, but their own bare hands, then shouldn’t we be able to start a monthly giving program without a problem?

Step by Step. Brick by Brick, persistently asking your donors to make a recurring gift will do the trick and will help you grow your donor retention rates by leaps and bounds.

You have the tools and the support right there by your side every step of the way. Just sign up for the next Charity How To Webinar, on June 19th or 26th or attend the Network for Good Webinar I’m presenting on June 24th.

Let’s make some recurring giving history together!
