A Direct Solution started in 2003, answering the need for an experienced agency at consultant prices.
Our consulting firm has collaborated since then with numerous organizations with a business model based on a mixture of project rates, hourly rates, or retainers, depending upon the needs of the client and budgetary constraints.
Additionally, A Direct Solution is registered as Fundraising Counsel with the Attorney General of Massachusetts and other states as they become applicable.
Our core services consist of providing full direct mail campaign development from start to finish, email execution or support, monthly giving campaigns, grant writing, events and public relations.
A Direct Solution regularly partners with a number of reliable vendors and outsources all design, production, and mail house services. This allows us to devote a significant amount of time and resources in-house on copywriting, strategy, planning, data selection, analysis, and customer service.
Most notably, A Direct Solution does not charge a markup on production, and all vendor invoices are passed-through-billing thus providing optimal transparency and flexibility for our clients.
A Direct Solution will provide cost estimates (following the client’s guidelines) and will reconcile all cost after each campaign to ensure that all campaign analysis uses final cost.
A Direct Solution is not like the typical agency with a large overhead and pre-assigned staff. Rather, our organization works with a curated pool of expert freelancers, many of whom have been working with us for as long as the agency exists. This allows our firm to be highly flexible, offer affordable services, and tap into a wide knowledge base for every client. It allows us to create together a custom-made project team that will provide your organization the utmost support needed to accomplish your goals.
Our offices are located in Marston’s Mills in the city of Barnstable, Massachusetts. But, we regularly commit to on-site visits with our clients.
A Direct Solution does not typically submit our work to be recognized, but we pride ourselves in making sure our clients are happy and receive the results they deserve.
For example, we are extremely proud to have executed several acquisition and prospect solicitation campaigns at a more than breakeven result – nearly unheard in this day and age.
Finally, as you can see in the biography, Erica Waasdorp, the principal of A Direct Solution has written one of the very few books on monthly giving in the industry, called “Monthly Giving – The Sleeping Giant: How Small Gifts Can Become Powerful Tools to Support any Organization.”
Erica has since presented numerous webinars on the topic, and is currently hosting live workshops to help more organizations integrate monthly giving in their campaigns.
